THANK YOU for the fantastic response on this survey. It will help the KFO Board of Directors set goals to achieve the KFO objectives. There were 138 surveys sent out. We received 47 back or 34%!
Members were asked to rate the importance of several items using the scale 5 (high) to 1 (low):
The ratings on each item were added up to identify an “intensity” of importance. The items that “rose to the top” in priority were based on those ratings and averages. Above 4.0 are the KFO items of focus.
Another measure of priority is that we added the ratings of responses. The ratings of 1 & 2 (any level of not being important) and 4 & 5 (any level of importance) – by showing a percentage. These items of 70% or greater are highlighted. The higher percentage of the 4 & 5 ratings, the more important that item was to the respondents. To see the summary of the results CLICK HERE. The top 12 (of 18) items in order of importance to the KFO members are:
1. The Existence of the KFO 2. Enter the family group sheets of the ancestral indirect lines (in-laws & cousins), which was the majority of Torleif’s genealogical work. 3. Verify the original sources of the life events (birth, marriage & death) of the 4-generations beyond Torleif S. Knaphus. 4. Create a CD-ROM / DVD of the histories and photo memories of Torleif S. Knaphus and his artwork for family members to enjoy. 5. Have a regular summer family reunion for all of Torleif S. Knaphus’ descendents. 6. Work with the Wood Museum in Bountiful to help show Torleif’s “Joseph Smith Receiving the Plates” statue. 7. (Tie) The KFO Web Page 8. If funded by outside sources, the KFO will donate a copy of the “Handcart Pioneers” to the Norwegian Emigrant Museum in Norway. 10. Assure accurate and complete documentation of the direct line ancestry even though the basic information of the direct line is already entered and available. 11. Provide correct(ed) biographies about Torleif S. Knaphus and his ancestors to appropriate family history Web/”wiki” sites 12. Hold a periodic adult “fireside” e.g., on our family history, Norwegian heritage, etc.
Regarding the Email Newsletter: 52% wanted it twice a year 44% once a year The median was twice a year. The KFO will keep doing newsletters twice a year (if possible). However, the Spring Newsletter will not include Family News Items.
